… if you’ve read me for any period of time whatsoever, you know what this probably feels like, what it means. To have the name “Alexander Hamilton” heard on almost a daily basis. There are reviews, interviews with the director, op-ed pieces, articles … it’s too much. I’m overwhelmed!
Along those lines, I read the first sentence of Ben Brantley’s review of Hamilton in The New York Times, and then immediately stopped reading. I felt pierced with happiness and excitement. Again.
I’ll read the rest of the review when I finally see the show (September 13).
I hope you arrange for a six-hour post-viewing podcast or something to capture the torrent of thoughts and emotions you’re bound to feel after seeing the show. The series of blog posts later? I can’t hardly wait. I’m already goosebumpy with anticipation. XXX Love you! Stevie
Stevie – hahahaha I wish you were here and we could go together.
I am definitely going to “short out” or something following the production. I will lose all of my intellectual faculties. I’m counting on it!!
Cannot WAIT.
I’m so excited for you! Isn’t it great to have something like this to look forward to?
It’s awesome – I’m trying to remember the last time I felt this way about a stage production. Maybe “Grey Gardens”?
Also “The Flick” earlier this summer – but yeah, it’s great when something generates this much excitement and seems to deserve it.
