    Thanks, Sheila. It’s been such a newsworthy year that it is so easy for us to forget one thing or another. I would have misplaced the memory of this, and I appreciate you bringing it to the fore. We shouldn’t be allowed to forget.

    That photo always gets me becuase of the Unit patch on his chest. It says “Spetznaz”, the Russian Army’s Special Forces. Imagine the guy wearing a Green Beret, and you see what impacvt it has for Russians.

    wow, John – I didn’t know that.

    The picture always struck me – because he obviously is immensely strong – but look at the gentleness on his face, and how gently he holds the baby. His huge hands look almost delicate in this context. It’s just heart-wrenching.
