New York montage

My favorite kind of roof. This spectacular building reminds me of the Titanic as well as the iceberg. Gorgeous.

Old-school sign.

Night on the 29th floor. All skyline and reflections.

Dance studio. I took this photo at around 8:15 in the morning, and it seemed quietly desolate to me, but also – quintessential New York. Everywhere you look … signs of humanity and interests and activities and life – even when people are still sleeping.

Taken on the same morning walk. I love to see the signs before the neon goes on.

The side of Carnegie Hall. That building gives me goosebumps.

The door at Tiffany’s when the store is closed.

The back of Roseland Ballroom

Would that be called a Mansard roof?

I don’t know – is it??? I just adore the ice green – and the dormer windows – and the slant of it – so beautiful!

What kind of camera do you have? I’m about to go shopping for one myself, and your photos look pretty good to me :) I love the Roseland one with all the fading eighth notes.

  4. Carrie says:

    haha. “Quare Festival” indeed, lol.

  5. red says:

Carrie – HA – I didn’t even notice that! Perfect.

Kristen – I got a Sony Cybershot – I’m pretty happy with it.

The only thing I can’t figure out (and maybe this camera can’t do it) is how to do reaaaaal close-ups. I like things to be abstract, or – I see things that way – so I like to try to photograph parts of things – but this camera will only allow me to get so close.

But other than that – I love it! (Obviously!)

Hey, could you do a special blog post request and explain just how you write as much as you do? Are you independently wealthy? Sleep two hours a night? An inquiring mind desperately seeks answer…

  9. red says:

    shamus – hahahahahaha

I guess I just go insane when I have a hobby?? Like this blogging thing is?

I also, it is true, do not sleep all that much. 5 hours a night, tops.

But that really doesn’t explain my insane output. I’m just crazy, I think is the answer I need to give to you.

Oh – and I’m buying the new white stripes tomorrow – I loved your review, thanks!!
