Son of God was already seen as part of the History Channel’s highly-rated “The Bible” mini-series last year, and now the Jesus-part of it is coming to theaters everywhere.

I was taken by your use of adjectives in your review of Son of God. Presto? Really? Can you be more diminishing? The Gospels are the Gospels. You can’t make a movie from a made up Gospel so of course the story is basically the same. When you commented about Scorceses’ Last Temptation, I gleaned you perspective.
There are many people of faith that just want a good wholesome movie without unwanted or needed violence or sex. We are bombarded with those issues twenty four seven. Ease up. You are missing the point of the movie and the people making it.
William – Thanks for reading and commenting!
Like I said in the review – the miracles came off as party tricks in the film. Hence my use of the word “Presto”. Seems pretty clear to me. And I thought “Last Temptation of Christ” was a far superior film to this one, and I thought Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” was also far superior. So if that’s the perspective you gleaned, you’re right on the money!
I am sure many people of faith will love the film. I also have faith, it’s a big part of my life. But I didn’t think this was a good film. Your mileage may vary!
Okay, “the Jesus part of it” is making me howl with laughter. “Hey, let’s put the Jesus part in theaters.” “Not the whole thing?” “Nah, just the Jesus part.”
hahahahaha “Hey, let’s put the Jesus part in theaters.”
“Damn, I wish they’d put the Moses part in theaters.” “I’m gunning for the Cain and Abel part, myself.” “Nope. Just the Jesus part.” “Oh.”
How about the Apocalypse part? Is that in the pipeline?
Hopefully the Ruby’s Demon Blood part will be the sequel.
So watching that!
