I have come down with the flu, and am quite miserable. I am drugged up on cold meds, which make my head feel like it is 3 feet wide. I am a huge floating head meandering through the garment district.
But I have noticed the following blog in my referral logs, and wanted to recommend it. At least on the basis of this post, which is quite moving.
The un-named blogger (at least, I couldn't find his name) describes his blog thus:
I've got hundreds of stories ... from growing up not exactly poor but still surrounded by guns, drugs and violence in a West-Coast city for a decade. I was one of the lucky ones that got out, made it to college, and got into a profession... The goal here is to tell some of the unglamorous stories of what goes on behind the guns, drugs and crime in the headlines. This is the oral history of my old neighborhood.
I haven't read much of it yet, but like I said, if his post "The Rose" is any indication, this blog is chock-full of well-told stories.
So go check out Gangstories
