Plastic bags of box cutters found aboard two planes from Southwest Airlines. In the next 24 hours, all commercial aircraft will be searched.
A note in both packages indicated the items were intended to challenge the TSA checkpoint security procedures, Southwest said.
Mission accomplished, eh?
I'm sure they have a list of suspects:
Nordic-looking grandmothers
5-year-old Amish boys
Frail old Jewish men
Breastfeeding mothers
Care to add any?
Posted by sheilaTurns out it was a college student, but you're right about the "suspects" that screeners single out. You did leave out attractive young women, the screeners always pay lots of attention to them.
Last year, they searched my mother's shoes. I guess Irish-American women over fifty with a bad limp are prime suspects when it comes to defending against Islamic terror.
Posted by: Bill McCabe at October 18, 2003 10:25 AMAs are 9 year old boys with stuffed turtle pillows in their carry-on bags. Very suspicious. ( But you should have seen the face of the security guy when he unzipped my son's backpack and the giant pillow practically leaped out at him! The guy almost had a coronary. But the look on his face was priceless. Needless to say, my son was quite mortified that people saw the turtle he MUST sleep with every night!!)
