Recovery Continues...

...As a matter of fact, I woke up at one p.m. today. Since most of you don't know me personally, you will not know how out of character that is. I am, categorically, a wake-up-at-6-am kind of girl.

I just have to say:

Mike Hendrix, and his crew of friends, and his stepsister - are fantastic people. We tripped about from bar to bar last night - and all of them were completely welcoming to me, accepting that this unknown blog-chick, a stranger to them, was part of their group. It warmed my heart. There was like no question in their minds - they just accepted me.

And by the end of the evening, I was speaking in a southern drawl. I couldn't help it. It was infectious.

Hanging out with them made me yearn to get a wallet-chain as well.

I am tellin' you: These guys are COOL. Pompadours, sideburns, wallet-chains, big ol' boots - DAMN. Rockabilly personified, strolling down Avenue A.

Very sexy.

It was a great time. A great weekend.

Drive home safe, y'all.

Oh boy, sigh, I can see it now, engineer boots, a trucker's wallet complete with chain, a Buck Folding Hunter, levis, a flannel shirt, and BIG Hair with a CAT baseball cap - and the whole time expounding on the passion of literacy - STOP! It's too much, I feel like I'm having a flashback, my mind is being ripped into alternate dimensions, I'm back tending bar on 1st and 6th.......aaaaiiiiieeeeee

These guys were the bomb. And I, with my biker's jacket, rolled up jeans, and big chunky boots, fit right in. I just need the wallet-chain.

But it's not just about how cool they all LOOKED. They just are cool people, in general. And by 'cool', I mean: awesome.

Wholesome? What's that mean? ;)

Wholesome is an undefined word my parents used when I was a teenager (in the 60s) to describe the girl I wasn't bring home. I searched for her everywhere I lived, all over the country, well into my 30s, but alas, she was no where to be found. Then when I was a lowly bartender an Eastside Blonde laughed at me from her lofty position in life when I told her I was looking for a wholesome girl and asked me, "Who told you to do that and why did you believe them?" I've been with her ever since and I still don't know what wholesome is but sure has assured me it isn't necessary to know. In the past I have been accused of contribiting to the reputation deterioration of unknown female customers but I always laughed it off asking, "Who told you that and..."
