Turkey

Dean Esmay has a couple things to say about the recent bombings in Turkey. I have to agree with him.

Saudi Arabia ... Turkey ..

Now they're targeting Islamic countries. So much for Muslim solidarity.

Either - they want to punish any Muslim countries who are even vaguely pro-U.S. Or ... they are physically unable to attack Western countries at the moment, because of the increased security measures.

New security measures helping? Nah, that can't be it.

I believe al Qaeda is trying to open a second front. Either they're having a really bad time of it in Afghanistan and Iraq (and, God willing & the creek don't rise, along the Pakistani border), or they're trying to draw attention away from sleeper cells in the West who are beavering away at another 9/11-scale operation. Maybe both.

Or maybe they're as bottomlessly stupid, paranoid and naive as their pronouncements make them sound. I don't count on that, though, and neither should anyone else.

I think Turkey was an easy target because many of the terrorists that were in Iraq could easily sneak into Turkey when we went into Iraq. Same thing with Saudi Arabia. It is just a matter of geography. They're thinking, "Here we are hiding in Turkey, let's hit a couple of Jewish and British targets."

It's a good strategy for them. It increases pressure on Muslim Turkey to not aid "the infidels", puts pressure on the U.S. and U.K. leadership, and (most importantly) kills a few Jews while sending a message to Israel that "we still hate you and haven't forgotten about you."

We, the U.S. needs to stand firm and continue to make it clear to Muslim countries such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia that we will not tolerate any aid given to these madmen.

Fr. George Rutler oince said that are several tyopes of people in the world.

1. The Smart and Lazy.
2. The Smart and Energetic.
3. The Stupid and Lazy.
4. The Stupid and Energetic.

It's the fourth type of person that is most dangerous. That about sums up these facists, wouldn;t you say? Stupid and energetic?
