Val, over at Babalu Blog, has initiated a very ambitious project called Blog Cuba, which has launched today.
He has asked various bloggers (myself included) to contribute essays, posts, whatever, on the subject of Cuba.
Go over there as soon as you can, and check it out.
Update: He has been updated the page continuously through the day. So keep visiting - some beautiful writing over there.
Update 2: When Val first approached me with his Blog Cuba idea I thought to myself, like an evil priestess, "I will write something that will make Val cry ..." And lo and behold - I succeeded!

I too started with just a smidge of knowledge about Cuba and now I have a little bit bigger smidge. I began with Jose Marti as well, but followed the historical path. I was impressed by how much more he was than a wonderful poet.
