Iran

Just because I haven't been blogging about world events doesn't mean I am not aware of what is going on. It just seems that everybody else has it sufficiently covered.

I cannot even get my mind around the number of people killed in the earthquake in Iran. Something in my brain rejects it. I can't comprehend it.

I find the government of Iran despicable in every way. Their rejection of aid from Israel is the latest example - These people will stop at nothing - They will let their own countrymen die and suffer rather than recognize Israel. They are zealots. Insane. But the people of Iran are a different story.

I hope that one day they can topple their own government - once again. It is up to them. They must take their lives into their own hands.

But all this aside - the scope of the suffering, the number of deaths ... Ideology and political differences cannot (and should not) touch our ability to feel for other people.

Michele has a wonderful post (thank you so much for it!!) about Bam. She also has a number of links where you can go if you want to help.
