HA! (David)

I visited the site today and I'm laughing my ass off! How pathetic I was! I can't even find my posts from last week they're so far down the scroll. I struggled to get one post up a day and I couldn't even read all your posts in one day! HA! You're awesome. And if I ever feel like a loser, or rather, when I feel like a loser, I'm going to read your post about me. You go girl!

I'm a speed demon. I also kind of need to get a life.

But for now ... I blog like a maniac.

David - Don't feel bad. Sheila is unusaul among bloggers (!!). Most put only one piece of content up per day. Not our Sheila. Content, content, content.

Unusaul. That's Irish for unusual.

David, sometimes I come here for a break ... when I click off Sheila's site, sometimes I find that a couple hours have disappeared.

If I had my druthers I would sit and discuss Cary Grant and Metallica and James Joyce ALL DAY. It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to do other things.

heeelllllp......

(also ... "druthers"? I don't think I've ever used that word seriously before.)

I'd suggest an intervention, but then where would I go for my Cary Grant/Metallica/James Cagney/James Joyce/6 Feet Under/etc. fix?

Nice to see you're still hanging around, David. I enjoyed your stuff.

"Druthers"

What a good name for a horse.

Posted by: michael at July 21, 2004 3:46 PM

Hmmmm..."druthers." That's another word that's just interesting-sounding. I don't know if it's one of my favorite words, but it's certainly unusual. Or maybe "unusaul." :-p

"unusaul" can be found in Emily's book of Wicked Irish.

Posted by: red at July 21, 2004 3:50 PM

But how is it pronounced?

Posted by: michael at July 21, 2004 4:18 PM

It's pronounced in the usaul way.

Posted by: skillzy at July 21, 2004 6:26 PM

I tried to look up druthers but it isn't in the dictionary. What the hell IS a druther?

Posted by: David at July 21, 2004 7:01 PM

"If I had my druthers"...

Now that I think about it, I do not approve of that word at all. I have a linguistic source at my fingertips - I will find out the derivation of this STUPID word I have used and get back to you.

Posted by: red at July 21, 2004 8:27 PM

I think "unusaul" rhymes with "anusol". At least, that is how I pronounce it. (heh, heh, heh)

Posted by: Beth at July 21, 2004 10:38 PM

My linguistic source failed me on "druthers".

Posted by: red at July 22, 2004 9:37 AM

Would one's "druthers" be sort of a contraction of "I'd rather," maybe? That's my guess...

Posted by: Jayne at July 22, 2004 10:52 AM

That's nice work Jayne! "I'd ruther be there than here." Say it fast with an english accent. If you got your wish you'd get your
"druthers". Nice work.
