I'm surprised you didn't even mention "Bring It On," which I thought was at the top of that list. :-p

I did consider putting Bring It On at the head of the list, but the more I think about it - the more I am not embarrassed at ALL to loving that movie. I am PROUD of it. So it doesn't really count.

But Center Stage?? Now that is embarrassing.

But I own it, and watch it happily on a regular basis.

1. Joe Versus the Volcano
2. Big Trouble in Little China (hmmm.. maybe this should top the list)
3. Doc Hollywood
4. The Big Lebowski

I think that's it.

Joe Vs. the Volcano is one of my favorite movies ever.

"I have no response to that."

How can you NOT love a movie that casts Abe Vigoda as the chief of a half-Jewish Island tribe whose economy is centered around virgin sacrifice and orange soda?

"Center Stage".....delicious.

I have too many to mention, but I would like to add "Flashdance." I mean, please. Can we just talk about the old lady's death, and the splashing water, and the dog with the bow?

Please.

The old lady ... hahahaha

That whole movie is just random scenes, unconnected - and then interspersed with raging music videos.

And it is a delight.

I should be ashamed....

1. Showgirls (Oh My God! Showgirls???)
2. Grease
3. Dogma
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Noises Off (has ANYONE ever heard of this one? I love it!)

Posted by: DeAnna at July 23, 2004 5:59 PM

Noises Off is nothing to be ashamed of... Simon's writing at its best

Posted by: Big Dan at July 23, 2004 6:19 PM

1. Big Trouble In Little China
2. The Rocketeer

Both are modern remakes of the old Errol Flynn swashbucklers, from opposite points of view. 'The Rocketeer' took itself a little too seriously, 'BTILC' had no such problems! Both are great for light entertainment

3. 'Go'
4. 'Trading Places'
5. 'True Grit'

Ahhh, I feel better having brought that out into the light!

When I was single, I watched "Swingers" on a regular basis, whenever I was bummed out and feeling lonely.

How can you be ashamed of owning and watching ? That's a GREAT flick.

Posted by: Ron at July 23, 2004 10:25 PM

Ack. that was supposed to be "Trading Places" which managed to disappear apparently.

Posted by: Ron at July 23, 2004 10:26 PM

Mr. Deeds
Dirty Dancing
Rollerball
Midway
Showgirls (actually too ashamed to even own)
