Take this fun quiz where you guess which smiles are fake and which are genuine.
I have to admit that I rule.
I got 19 out of 20 correct.

Posted by sheilaWell, here I thought I would get a perfect score, dealing with legislators and their staff all the time, and the best I could do was 15 out of 20.
You definitely rule. But we knew that already!
Posted by: Jeff at August 12, 2004 02:40 PMOh, it's just cause it's about emotion. I'm all about emotion.
If it were quizzes on ... say ... tax law or window treatments ... I'd suck.
Posted by: red at August 12, 2004 02:42 PMI'll remember that if we ever find ourselves facing off in a Trivial Pursuit tournament. Since my wife is an interior designer, I have more knowledge on window treatments than I'm comfortable admitting to.
Posted by: Jeff at August 12, 2004 02:56 PMI only got 14 right, but almost all of the ones I was unsure about were the ones I missed...
Posted by: MikeR at August 12, 2004 03:30 PMHow 'bout that one chick who looked like ... well, like a serial killer of some kind. Do you remember her? With the big high forehead and shadowed eyes? I saw her and thought: Damn, before I even SEE her smile, I know it's fake!!
Posted by: red at August 12, 2004 03:33 PMYes, Red, but can you tell if my smile right now is Genuine or Fake?
Posted by: david at August 12, 2004 03:34 PMDavid, I can feel the genuine-ness emanating through the Movable Type interface.
Posted by: red at August 12, 2004 03:35 PMFor that one, I was looking for a third button marked "creepy."
17/20. Misjudged two fakes and one genuine.
Posted by: Dave at August 12, 2004 03:35 PMHAHAHA "Damn, where is that creepy button?"
Posted by: red at August 12, 2004 03:36 PM#13! that was the first think i was going to mention when i came here, but you beat me to it. definitely channeling aileen warnous. i got 18 right. i got the asian girl wrong and the very last guy wrong. which one did you get wrong, sheila?
Posted by: Allison at August 12, 2004 05:24 PMYeah, the serial killer was pretty scary. I'm not sure I WANT to know what a genuine smile from that one would look like...
Posted by: MikeR at August 12, 2004 05:56 PMThe only time you'd see a real smile out of her would be right before she stabbed you.
Allison - I got the chunky-faced guy with the 70s era mustache wrong. I said it was fake, but it was genuine. Believe it or not, I did change my answer on that one. The rest I chose without hesitation, but that one gave me pause.
I chose wrongly.
Interesting. I thought I was doing terribly, but I got 17/20. Unfortunately, I missed the last two, which hurt my score. I really thought I was getting about half right. If Sheila hadn't mentioned the eyes in her post, I don't think I would have done as well.
Posted by: DBW at August 12, 2004 06:17 PMThe eyes have it.
Posted by: red at August 12, 2004 06:18 PMWay behind on my reading here!! I got 17/20 right, and I agree with David. I thought I'd only get about 1/2 right. One was a blond guy, and I got gap-tooth guy wrong too. His eyes looked shifty to me. I think it would have been funny if the last test was the actual 70's smiley face, just to have one 'gimme' on the test.
Posted by: Ann Marie at August 12, 2004 06:29 PMoh, i didn't even read the title of the post, but just instinctively looked at the eyes. the eyes speak volumes and volumes.
Posted by: Allison at August 12, 2004 06:43 PM19/20. Woo hoo!
Posted by: Ken Summers, Perversion Catalyst at August 12, 2004 07:07 PM17/20 for me too
Posted by: Laura at August 13, 2004 10:36 AM15 for 20, but then I was on #15 before I figured to look at the eyes...... Dumb, me!
