You're not gonna believe it, when you find out what it is. It doesn't seem to "go" with the book at all.
It's a classic. A weird creepy unclassifiable classic.
Posted by: red at November 9, 2004 4:25 PMI looked it up but I won't spoil it. It definitely does not fit with the rest of the book, at least in my mind's eye.
Posted by: Steve at November 9, 2004 4:38 PMIt's one of my favorite books. I probably read it once a year.

This book is routinely referred to as one of the greatest novels ever written. It's BIZARRE, and ahead of its time ... but it's also timeless. You can't pin it down. It's bleak, it's completely sexy, it's tragic, it's terrifying ... and there is a way bizarre little cross-dressing incident smack in the middle of it.
I don't care what anyone else says - novels don't get much better than this one.
