The bird is the word indeed.
I recorded one of the 'eddie' tournaments off of ESPN years ago, like back when I was in 8th grade.
That's an amazing thing to see, a 30+ foot wave. It's not really easy to identify unless you're looking at it in motion, but those surfers are truly inviting death. It's like being chased by a falling building.
But, it's Freshwater, so I'll never actually do it :)
It's nice to watch, though.
