I feel a bolt of excitement whenever Alex adds to her "50 Greatest Movies of All Time" list. They're dee-lish, and very unexpected. It's the kind of list that has room for True Grit AND Waiting for Guffman.
This is Part 4 of her ongoing series.
Make sure you don't just scan the titles - make sure to read her commentary. It's chock-full of great anecdotes and analysis.
(By the way - Emily, have you seen Grey Gardens yet? You've got to see it!!! I'm warning you - nothing will prepare you for it. I watched the entire thing with my jaw hanging open - like: IS THIS REAL? ... It's incredible.)
Here's the rest of Alex's Great Movies series:
Posted by sheilaI haven't, Sheila. I'd forgotten about it, to be honest. I'll have to make a note, or throw it in my Amazon wishlist so I don't forget again.
Posted by: Emily at December 20, 2004 05:12 PMIt's so freaky. It is a window into ... er ... I have no idea what.
Posted by: red at December 20, 2004 05:17 PMI finally saw Big Fish the other day, thanks to your recommendation. I was mush by the end. Lovely, lovely film. Thanks.

Posted by: red at December 21, 2004 10:55 AMI can't believe I still cry when I watch that movie - right from the moment where Will starts telling the story of "how it ends" all the way to the end. I just ball like a baby.
Posted by: Emily at December 21, 2004 11:26 AMEmily - me too! The power of that movie completely snuck up on me the first time I saw it - Now I well up with tears throughout, because I know what's coming!
