are with the thousands and thousands of people affected by the tsunami. The mind absolutely boggles in the face of such a thing, of such numbers.
Tim Blair has a ton of links: updating information on this disaster, and information on how to help.
Posted by sheilaHere's most of an e-mail I just sent to apdigitalupdate@ap.org:
"The following headline appeared on my att.net news page: 'Megathrust' Quake Severe, but No Surprise. . .
"That headline writer and/or the appropriate editor should be fired at the speed at which the lives of so many ended.
"Not much of a surprise? I believe that the more than 22,000 dead and their families would disagree."
My God, what unbearable stupidity in the face of such a horrific tragedy.

Posted by: Bud at December 27, 2004 09:05 PMI've read that we on the U.S. east coast may be in for something similar (although no one is predicting when) if a large piece of a volcano on Las Palmas Island slides off into the ocean. Pretty scary stuff. You can Google it if you're interested.
