I don't update my blogroll. I barely can reply to emails from random people out there. I just ... well, you know. I HAVE A LIFE. Mmkay?? Off the blog?? Know what I'm sayin'?
But I do want to add a couple of folks to the blog-roll - long overdue. I won't even apologize for how long overdue it is. Whatever. Deal.
However, these are people I check in with pretty much every day.
Beth (also from Cursed to First - her Red Sox blog, which got me hooked into the whole Beth THANG) ... here is OTHER blog Grand Mental Station. I am not sure how many actual blogs she has. I do believe there are a couple more. But this is her personal-essay blog. Wide range of topics. She's quite a good writer, and I suggest you scroll through her stuff.
Our very own Lisa. Lisa - ehm - cracks me up. To put it mildly. From the MOMENT she showed up on my blog, she's been a blast. I look forward to meeting this woman some day. We will sit up until midnight, talking about St. Elmo's Fire. Like lunatics. I look forward to it.
El Capitan. At Baboon Pirates. He just wrote what a series of hiLARious haikus for Annika's contest. I could barely get through them without snorting.
And Sarah K, at Mountaineer Musings. She loves American Idol (I believe she even auditioned for it), and ... her feelings for the show "Alias" probably go way beyond love. It is veritably an obsession. And you know me. I APPLAUD obsessions! Anyway, I find her writing SO entertaining. I got hooked in during the whole Grand Canyon adventure, when she and Frank J at IMAO were posting dueling versions of the truth about their hike. It was better than a mini-series. It was also FUNNIER than a mini-series. I've been reading her ever since. So. Onto the blog-roll.
And one more addition (well, it's been on the blogroll for a while ... but I never announced it):
The ESSENTIAL Go Fug Yourself. Cannot live without this hilarious blog, detailing the horrific dressing choices of celebrities.

You have a life? Must be nice.
I had a life once. Turned out that it was only a beta release and it kept crashing so I de-installed it.
Posted by: homebru at February 2, 2005 12:32 PMIt's funny ... the only reason I have a life at the moment is because of the person who left an ENRAGED comment about my making-fun-of-Paula-Abdul post, and told me I need to 'get a life'.
That was a couple of days ago. I took this person's advice DEEPLY to heart. And now.
I have a life.
But I still think Paula Abdul is a dumb bitch.
Posted by: red at February 2, 2005 12:35 PMSquee!
Seriously, dude, I BOW BEFORE The Fug Blog. Those chicks are wicked funny. The Paula Abdul collection ALONE would make your commentator's head explode. Y'all were kind compared to them.

The one about her dress that was too small???
heh heh
Posted by: red at February 2, 2005 12:38 PMThe St. Elmo's Fire symposium will start AFTER the karoke, right?
Posted by: Lisa at February 2, 2005 12:39 PMOff-topic - Thanks for your comments on my blog, Sheila! I thought twice before posting because it was a whiny rant. It felt good, though. :)

You are, as always, most welcome! I didn't think it was whiny at all. It was honest. I thought it was great.
And I'll just reiterate what I said: There will be people who are embarrassed by those who state their ambitions plainly. I think you've already experienced some of that with that post. They're gonna wish you were shy-er about what you want in life, and not be so PLAIN SPOKEN about it.
All I can say is: IGNORE THOSE PEOPLE.
hee hee
Having read the ENRAGED comment in defence of Paula Abdul.. erm.. actually it was more a RANT against everyone else.. ANYway.. I hope it wasn't the start of a new collection of Google referrals, Sheila...
