Thank God for fug

I see a picture like this and struggle to express my feelings about it. Fug Girls do not have that problem. Read their one-line post. Perfect.

Stefani has got Madonna disease... I'm not comparing each fashion sense (Madonna never had any), but comparing Madonna's marketing sense to Gwen's fashion sense.

Both bucked the conventions and made a name for themselves by pushing limits because they believed that they were right in their respective sense of what's "good". Now both push limits 'cus that's what they're supposed to do whether it's good or not.

It's really weird. Gwen, in her original No Doubt phase, was my fashion guru.

Now I'm not so sure.

"Evita: The Hot Pants Years."

That is just *classic*.

A friend of mine that was a stylist for a few years says his theory is that celebtrities dress in these kinds of outfits not because they think they look good, but either because they are people who desperately crave attention but are so dull there's nothing else about them that warrants the attention, or because they're surrounded by so many people that are just as beautiful as they are, they fear they will be "lost" in the sea of pretty faces and not stand out.

hahaha They're like the millionaire version of those people we were bitching about a couple weeks ago, Emily - the pierced tattooed mohawked cashiers in record stores.

Did you read the comments?

One person wrote:

"Those look like the white pressure stockings they make people wear after having surgery so the blood doesn't pool in their legs. My obese aunt had to wear them and it's true, they have holes in the feet so they can check your circulation."

God. That is so feckin' funny.
