... the three books you are reading simultaneously are:
Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens
Tracy and Hepburn, by Garson Kanin
Carnage and Culture, by Victor Davis Hanson
Great Expectations is wicked cool.

Posted by: red at April 25, 2005 5:31 PMI'm a big VDH fan - and Carno+Culto is one of my favorites.
Posted by: mitch at April 25, 2005 5:34 PMYeah, I dig him. I am a fast reader, but I find that with this book (since most of it is really new information to me, and I'm not used to reading military history) - I have to go slow. I like the setup of the book - that each battle has its own extended chapter.

Chrisanne just went to the bookstore and spent $100 on used books. She bought everything from the history of The White House, to the Fall Of The Chineese Empire. Oh yeah.....and a book about the History of Christianity. Now SHE'S a weirdo.

I knew I would get along with her in the first moment I met her - when she showed me the book she had bought that day - a biography of Abigail Adams.
