The plague of Lotuses

I'd like to see the Lego rendition of THIS.

(I think what she was ACTUALLY referring to was this ... she just got a little confused.)

Sorry I haven't mentioned this sooner, but I've been trapped in the local hospital:

I just finished playing what may be the most creative video game in the last several years. It's called "Lego Star Wars" and it lets you play out (on your X-Box, Playstation 2 or Gamecube) the three most recent episodes of the Star Wars saga.

The catch is that everything in the video game is constructed of Legos. When you cut a war droid in half with your lightsaber, it falls apart into little Lego pieces. Because Mace Windu is bald he has a little connector on the top of his head waiting for Lego hair or a Lego hat. You can use force powers to disassemble certain, say, computers or chairs, into component Lego bits and reshape them into a bridge or ladder to get to hard-to-reach areas.

The game is ostensibly for kids, but it was one of the most fun guilty pleasures I've enjoyed in a long time. You can play any character in the movies once you've gotten past their part, meaning you can go back and play Episode one using R2-D2 and, say, Darth Maul or General V. as your "heroes." AND you can kill Jar Jar. Over and over. Many little Lego Jar Jar bits.

I hate to sound like a shill, but I'd love to see more movies come out in Lego form. It's all so cute and innocent that even seeing Qui Gon get run through or Maul cut in half was almost playful.

Anyway, it will at the very least make you snort. I've taken up too much space, but you'll have to forgive me: I've been strapped to IVs for a week. Sheila, you might even want to get a giggle by downloading a free demo here: http://www.legostarwarsthevideogame.com/flash/player.cfm

Forgive me for not knowing how to post links in other people's comments.

REVEREND DAN! /gump

Does this mean you're feeling better?! I hope so. Many prayers have been sent on your behalf.

My son has rented LEGO Star Wars several times and he loves it. I'm thinkin' the Birthday Fairy might bring it for his birthday.

Lisa,

Why yes, I am feeling much better thank you. And all it took was three units of blood and a needle that drained (I kid you not) a liter and a half of fluid from around my left lung. Of course the primary problem remains, but I can breathe through it now.

Tell me if your kid finds all the Lego bits to construct all the vehicles. I'm having a devil of a time finding the last few hidden pieces.
