I had a feeling you'd appreciate this, Sheila. Writing this post reminded me that I'm just a wealth of useless information when it comes to Little House on the Prairie. Like, I could talk FOR HOURS about the creepy episode about Sylvie who was raped by the blacksmith. I think this definitely calls for a whole new post (or even a series of them) on my psychotic, photographic memory of all things Little House. Stay tuned.

she's right though; that was a staple of 70's tv plots.
Posted by: Mr. Bingley at July 12, 2005 3:30 PMCURLY!! Our friend Betsy knows that episode by HEART!!! Whoa.........
Posted by: Just1Beth at July 12, 2005 3:38 PMJust1Beth, I think I need to have drinks with Betsy. I imagine that we'd close down the bar with discussions ranging from how the hen-pecked Nels nearly cheated on Harriett with that woman with the fake Irish accent who ran a B&B to the hot blind guy who hoisted Albert into the end zone to score the winning touchdown.
Ask me what I had for breakfast today and I'll be stumped. Ask me about the saga of James and Cassandra and I can speak at length. I'm sick.
Posted by: curly mcdimple at July 12, 2005 4:55 PMcurly - Betsy sent me her stream-of-conscious thoughts when re-watching the final episode of Little house.
Posted by: red at July 12, 2005 4:56 PMI've read that before! But I just read it again and it still makes me wheeze. And I just LOVE the idea of you wearing a bonnet to school. HA HA!
Posted by: curly mcdimple at July 12, 2005 5:44 PMHAHAHAHAHAHA
Posted by: red at July 12, 2005 5:46 PMOh my goodness!!! I did not know! I'll have to go turn on channel 47 and reflect upon this man's impact on my life....
Posted by: Betsy at July 12, 2005 9:20 PMOkay - I just read Curly's obit - that was crazy and hysterical - I'm up for that drink and Little House conversation anytime!
Posted by: Betsy at July 12, 2005 9:22 PMhahahahahaha
all those crazy awful childbirth scenes!!
and yes - the episode with the raping blacksmith ... it's emblazoned in my mind!!
Posted by: red at July 13, 2005 12:27 AMAwesome, Betsy! I look forward to lots o' booze and highly detailed episode recaps.
Sheila, I'm STILL giggling over the fact that someone quoted "Bringing in the Sheaves" in the comments on Betsy's post. If I may quote my mother: "N'erth! Don't they know any other songs?"
Posted by: curly mcdimple at July 13, 2005 8:27 AMcurly - I KNOW. hahahahaha
I also like Betsy's comment about her daughter not really wanting to read the books - but if they were called "Little Crib in the Hood" maybe her daughter would check them out.
hahahahahaha
