More detail: the line was said by the character Roger O. Thornhill, whose matchbook displayed initials which he though were appropriate for his situation: “R.O.T.” (The O was the largest letter as I recall).

My favourite line was the WAY he announced to his mother that the invisible character George Kaplan had “short arms and DAN-druff”, in his inimitable way.
