Love it. A similar site I stumbled across the other day.

I'm glad the pictures at Agence eureka speak for themselves. My French is limited to Zinedine ze Idiot.

Apropos of very little--in the middle of third grade my family moved from one part of my home town to another. One of the textbooks I got at my new school included a number of stories featuring some children who lived in Brittany. Those first three images from pita's July 8 post reminded me somehow of those stories.

Wow. I like Agence Eureka but love Big Happy Funhouse. Good job increasing the value of comments-reading, Rob.

Ken - yeah, I love the illustrations she finds. Maybe from random kids books - or old magazines, when illustration was still considered an artform.

And of course I am loving the old movie mags.

It strikes me that people of those 'eras' spent a lot of time getting their hair done. I mean, how much time primping and prepping does it take to get that much brylcream in you hair?

Sheila - you can get a good 3-in-1 (copy, scan, print) machine for 100 bucks or less. I have an HP that I use at home. I've only posted one or two of my scans (the rest are direct downloads from my camera's flash card) but they came out well, you can even read the text. I've used other scans as desktop pictures and the like, and I've never had a complaint.

Nightfly -- *Where* would one find this magial copier/scanner/priner for 100 bucks or less?

Answer this and make my day. Pleeease. I've been wanting something like this for so long.

Good God. I'm overwhelmed at the mere thought of such a machine, I guess.

I love Pita too - she has such a good eye and an archivist's acumen; she finds rarely seen images like nobody's business.
Funny - did we both discover her through the Lana Turner thing? (I didn't post, BTW, but I did watch 'Postman' - and recently, Imitation of Life' - in her honor!)

Tracey (and Sheila) - mine is an HP 1315. The cost has come down since this review. I got mine for $75 at Target last year. I think the PhotoSmart variety is pricier, but it may be worth the upgrade if you actually run photo prints at home.

There are more recent models available, of course. I tend to get bargains by waiting for next year's models and then snapping up the discounted previous model!
