Burning Man

What an amazing picture. I have a couple friends at Burning Man - they go every year - and it's one of those things where I think I really should just go one of these days. Mitchell and I have talked about it. It would be an adventure. You know, make some papier mache shit and strum a homemade ukelele and wear a Mardi Gras mask for no apparent reason and sleep in a tent and dance around a fire. Look at that sunrise over the desert - with the black paper cut-out bicycle riders. Breathtaking.

Sheila -- My husband has a friend who goes every year. He camps out, walks around naked, eats, drinks. Apparently, he's rigged some kind of "fishmobile" thing that he drives around in, naked and blurpy, wearing an apron, making mixed drinks for people. Oh, and I guess that's the thing at "Burning Man" -- you can't charge for anything; you have to trade or give it for free.

hahahahahaha Dude, I so want to rig a fishmobile and ride around naked. I'm serious! I don't want to LIVE like that all the time - but once a year? How cathartic.

I wonder if people bring those artist trading cards you post on your site???

Oh, and I guess one year there was an all-girl naked unicycle brass band.

And said friend has a picture he took that all the naked people posed for one year. They were trying to set a record for the most naked people in a picture. Hahahahahaha!

Okay. This might be a plan. You, me, and Mitchell (and others) in the desert? With a tent and some alcohol? And maybe bring some roller skates and finger paints and Legos?
