... from amelie. Who reminded me.
Member the post about my "situational crush" and being sliced out of my dress during a quick costume change? Well, if you don't remember it, here it is. This was pre-scanner. I wished I had a scanner to show you the two costumes. As visual aids.
So anyway, now I have a scanner and sweet amelie reminded me!! Ha!
Anyway - I haven't posted any pictures of myself as an actress cause, whatever, I just haven't ... but here they are.
I was playing Maggie in Miller's After the Fall and I had a 12 second costume change between the two. Here are some shots below. The photographer was marvelous - he didn't take "stills" - meaning: he took shots of us AS we were performing. We didn't freeze for him, like so many photographers do- you pick a moment in a scene, and hold a pose - but that does add some artificiality to the photos. These are live-action shots and it makes all the difference.
1st costume. Maggie and Quentin in the park. (He was a wonderful actor, by the way. Perfectly cast, too - he just was that guy.)
This is the dress Kyle sliced off of me.

Here's another view of the dress, a fuller view. I've just been sitting down so that's why it's wrinkled and bunched up.

And this is what I had to change into in 12 seconds. (Or, I should say: be changed into, since I had so much help, including, in one panicky moment, Kyle's razor blade.)

Oh, Sheila! I LOVE these! I can see how form-fitting and hubba-hubba that dress must have been, how close that razor blade would have been to your *skin*, how deft Kyle had to be. Wow.
And that last picture is simply breathtaking. Thank you.

Posted by: tracey at October 8, 2006 3:17 PMOh, LORD. I am SO embarrassed. That was yesterday, Tracey. Oh, hell. I can't think -- something ATE my blog, you know!

Posted by: miker at October 8, 2006 4:50 PMI really need to watch you on stage. You evoke so much, even in these still frames. Amazing.
