"I remember daring, yes daring, to think we were going to win...."

A beautiful personal remembrance of that game. Like I said - I never get enough of the personal stories about this one particular event. Thanks, Dave E!!

Thanks, Sheila. That whole daring thing seems a little laughable now, but that's the way it was. At least for me.

I so so get it, though!

You know - if you watch the game again, you can still get that feeling. it's bizarre. It was an emotional mindset - like Mark Johnson making the goal with 1 second left.... That kind of mental focus ... And you can see the desperation, like you said, in the Russians during those last 10 minutes as they begin to realize ... they're scrambling - you just can feel it. And the Americans just did not give up. !!! I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it. :)

Emotional, yes...and kind of a karma thing. Or maybe a portent. Turned out that way from a big picure point of view.
