By the dawn's early light.

Ruben - I think you need to check out what's on my fridge.

A baby bag.
I used to live on the second floor - my window is the one with the fire escape outside it, behind the tree. I lived there from 2000 - 2001. Horrifying.
So bizarre.
Contrast.
Seeing it on the RCMH marquee makes even Go Diego Go seem cool.
Posted by: Eric the...bald at May 8, 2007 10:15 AMWho's the girl in the yellow dress? It seems like I should know...
Posted by: JFH at May 8, 2007 10:51 AMJFH - it's Lily Allen. Singer, MySpace sensation.
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 11:14 AMEric - hahahaha I know, right?
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 11:18 AMOf course! Didn't she cancel the rest of her tour of the US, in April?
Posted by: JFH at May 8, 2007 12:05 PMYes! She said she missed her parents too much. Was way too homesick. I find that quite endearing.
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 12:08 PMI *love* all the reflections in the one with the wicked reflection. the hand over to the left... awesome.
really enjoying the contrast piece, too.
Posted by: amelie / rae at May 8, 2007 12:10 PMSinger, MySpace sensation.
This cracked me up for some reason. Like she puts that on her tax form or something. I guess it reminds me of that old denture cream commercial - "Martha Raye: comedienne, denture wearer." - implying those were the two biggest accomplishments in her life.
Posted by: Mark at May 8, 2007 12:19 PMi like the sign in the background with the strangely spelled swear word. 'marthar farkar!!!'
you are pretty handy with that camera, sheil!
i remember moving you into that apartment in 2000, i think??? no, probably not. i remember moving you from 103rd st. down to the 60's on a day when every ounce of moisture that was in the sky was deposited right around our moving van.
Posted by: brendan at May 8, 2007 12:56 PMBren - hahahahahaha It's like a Mum swear in the background!
Yes - I think that was the last apartment I moved into where I didn't hire movers. Blah. It was the worst apartment EVER.
I am really trying to find the sign that says Marthar farkar
Also- "I *love* all the reflections in the one with the wicked reflection. the hand over to the left... awesome."
Why can't I see any pictures with reflections??? does that mean I'm a ghost?
Help me- i'm losing my mind.
mere - it took me a while to see it too. It's not actually "marthar fackar" but it's along those lines.
Okay, see the sign above Lily Allen's head that says CAK SACK KAR ...
hmmmm, sound it out ....
Isn't that hysterical? And stupid too?
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 2:41 PMah. OK, I saw that one. Thanks for confusing me Brendon!
Posted by: mere at May 8, 2007 2:44 PMDamn! I spelled Brendan's name wrong!
Posted by: mere at May 8, 2007 2:45 PMYou're upside down.
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 2:54 PMI'm upside down.
Posted by: mere at May 8, 2007 2:58 PMWhere is that, the one below the pineapple? It looks so ethereal.
Posted by: Kate P at May 8, 2007 3:00 PMKate - that's in the concourse of Rockefeller Center. The ice skating rink is on the other side of that lit-up glass.
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 3:07 PMCool!
Posted by: Kate P at May 8, 2007 4:15 PMmy reflections comment refers to the pineapplish pic.
Posted by: amelie / rae at May 8, 2007 4:40 PMI also love how the "wicked" shows up in that reflection, too - I totally didn't notice that at all. I just liked the pineapple at the time. :)
Posted by: red at May 8, 2007 5:11 PMthat's what i meant by "the wicked reflection." ^_-
Posted by: amelie / rae at May 8, 2007 6:33 PMSheila - this is TOTALLY off topic, but a friend of mine sent the link to this article and I immediately thought of you.
I have shut down my blog, btw - I am completely unable to keep up with any of it, largely because the writing muse has been kicking in for non-bloggy things, and well...life in general...I had to be honest with myself and say that I would probably do better as an audience than a performer.
Posted by: Sharon Ferguson at May 8, 2007 8:23 PMSharon - !!!!!!!!
And the comparison to Russell Crowe! I'm dying!!
That's a great piece - it really is. And you know, I wondered what happened to you - haven't seen you round these here parts for a while. Hope things are going really well for you!
I am so glad to see my dead boyfriend being honored on PBS.
Posted by: red at May 9, 2007 6:58 AMYou know, I saw the "Go Diego" part and thought that it must read "Go Die Go." It's like, Hm, some marquee writer is feeling bitter this morning....
