Welcome To Belfast

We did the whole mural tour with Carrie. I mean, you just gotta. Our tour guide said stuff like, “And over der is da pub where me girlfriend’s da got his leg blown off …”

This one is actually not on the side of a private home – like all the other ones are – this is on the side of the Sinn Fein office. Gerry Adams was inside – and you can see the television truck antenna in the foreground. Lots of TV journalists hanging out, waiting, smoking, drinking coffee. We talked to them for a bit.

Hi! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Member our tour guide? Loved him.

  3. Carrie says:

Dessie, he is now known as ‘Uncle Dessie’. Still smokes like a chimney on fire, and has quite the repetorie of inane jokes. Love the guy.

  4. red says:

Oh, he was the taxi guy, right?? I loved Dessie – I loved how he drove us back to the train station and it was like we had become old dear friends.

I actually was thinking about the sort of angry-faced dude who did the Black Cab tour for us … the mural tour … member him??

  5. Carrie says:

He was a younger guy, wasn’t he?

  6. red says:

Yes! Reddish hair, very angry, verbose – nice guy.
