Beauty

... and also horror. One of my favorite series on the entire internet.

I read those poems and I find myself laughing and also crying - it's like staring directly at the sun. Genius! So brave to post that stuff.

Thanks for the link!

You should see me when I'm going through all of my old notebooks and folders. I'm red-faced with shame, but also laughing until I cry.

I love, too:

The woman was instructed
Her whole
Life to give and love and
Never scream out loud enough to hear

Someone actually said to "the woman"?:

"Your instructions for life are:
--Remember to eat fruits and vegetables every day.
--Get good grades.
--Be kind to others.
-- Oh, and also, never scream out loud enough to hear."

?? hahahaha

I love the poems, jess - it's so awesome you saved them!

Hey, we can't all be Alexander Hamilton.

"Never scream out loud enough to hear." Those were the very instructions my mother gave to me, you know. It's all very British.

These poems make me love The Lovely Jess just a little bit more each time she posts them.

curly - I know, totally. It makes me not feel so alone. I was soooo serious and 'deep' when I was a teenager, too - it's so great (and funny) to see someone else's "depth". And to be able to laugh!
