Today is Cary Grant's birthday. So unfurling below are a ton of quotes, anecdotes, excerpts - about my favorite actor of all time!

thanks for all the cary grant post-age!

The pictures you've assembled--the two that stand out most to me are the one from Charade and the one with Hepburn standing on his shoulders. Look at his expression in the Charade picture: to me, he looks like he'd rather be just about anywhere than crouched down there with a pistol and Audrey Hepburn hanging off him, but he puts himself--with full knowledge--manfully in harm's way.
The "tumbling" photo I like because they're both so unself-conscious in it, it makes them even better-looking than they are in made-up and posed shots.
My $.02, probably worth more for the scrap value of the copper.

Cary Grant Day!
Heaven!
Posted by: bill at January 18, 2008 4:53 PMSheila,
This has been a fantastic tribute. I don't know how you post so much and of such quality. It's really amazing!
By the way, I voted for your blog - I would have voted more than once but it won't let you. Perhaps I'll spend the weekend starting up 100 or so fake name gmail accounts so I can stuff the ballot box.
Jonathan - hahahahahaha Stuff that ballot box! Thanks for the support!
I had to stop my tribute (because, naturally, I could have gone on) - because, you know, the sun was shining, and I had to go join the human race.
But man. Cary Grant is the best, ain't he?? I never get sick of that guy. Never.
