Declarations of Love

Matt has a 5 for the day (declarations of love in movies and television). Wonderful choices, I think. Made me think of others I would like to add. And bless you for including "the phone scene" in It's a Wonderful Life. I have never, and I mean never, seen a scene that palpitates with as much erotic suppressed energy as that scene. It's almost unbearable.

Love them both, but the train teashop scene in "Brief Encounter" must go on the list. Where he's discussing lung diseases and they're just staring at each other.

Agreed. Jimmy and Donna nearly burst in that scene - it is truly amazing (and wonderful, in a painful way).

Good choices well defended (here in the comments too), but I'll always be partial to Jose Ferrer hiding in the shadows and pouring out his heart in Cyrano.
