(A brief history of this extraordinary church here). Some photos from this past Sunday.
So, so beautiful!
The one with the tiny blue flowers at the foot of the tree is my favorite, I don't know why. But those old tombstones are fascinating, too.
My dad - the hopeless NY lover - says thank you for the pics! He enjoys every one of your NY photo posts (to which I point him without fail) ;)

St. Paul's has some awesome trees that were probably saplings when George Washington prayed there (I'm guessing at their age) - but just specTACUlar trees.
Posted by: red at April 15, 2008 2:40 PMOh, and let's not forget that Alexander Hamilton did military drills in the yard early on in the Revolutionary War. I just love that crap.
Posted by: red at April 15, 2008 2:42 PMThe trees own the yard in front of the chapel. I love how the roots come up several inches out of the ground and stretch in every direction. They are like the caretakers of the property, watching everything. I was in awe when I sat down in a pew thinking to myself George Washington could have sat here! Very cool pictures.
