And yeah ... I'm linking to this because James Wolcott from Vanity Fair quoted my post extensively ... and I'm having a bit of an awestruck moment about it.
I love that Pollack's acting is getting the props, in the posts I'm seeing around the web.
Posted by sheila | TrackBackYour writing on acting deserves to be quoted.
I know you've helped me to enjoy movies more than I ever had before.
Regards.
Posted by: Hank at May 28, 2008 10:43 AMHey! Quoted in Variety! Very cool! And it is true about him...it is a strange power he had to disappear, even though you know, hey, that's sidney pollack! it's like, what other director could get away with that kind of duality? I can't think of one. Can you imagine Steven Spielberg showing up as a goofball husband in a Woody Allen film? Or Woody Allen playing a sleazy doctor in a Kubrick film?

Posted by: mere at May 28, 2008 4:48 PMOK. I have no reason to feel this way, but I had a little moment of teary pride for you!
Way to go! Next time, they should just have you write the article.

That's like having Dominick Dunne rehash your evidentiary hearing in Cannes Superior Court for the accidental death of a socialite's butler during a bruhaha in a casino kitchen. I mean. It's FAHHHB-YOU-lous!!! I'm so proud of you. xxx Stevie
