wow. i want to see it! what i love about your writing is your ability to dissect things to the point that i'm able to make a qualified decision about whether i'd like to see the film in question or not.

i can say, 'hmmm, cuddly khan w/general human behavior vs. steppes teeming with hordes of mongols baring swords, yea or nay?'

i say 'yea' and yay for you! great job.

The battle scenes and just the scenery itself is SO worth it - it's definitely a big-screen movie.

Oh, and the music. The music is unbelievable - I want the soundtrack. There's also a scene when he's a little kid when he falls through the ice ... one of the most beautiful and awful scenes in the film. Really well done. I just wish they had all talked less.
