"In baseball, you make an error! Whooops!"

Rest in peace, George Carlin. I loved his bit on the differences between football and baseball. See below. What a loss. An American classic.

Completely taken by surprise when I saw this on the news this morning. Absolutely loved the way he played on words. i.e. "Passengers can now get ON the plane... I don't want to get ON the plane. The birds can sit ON the plane. I want to get IN the plane" and one of my all time favorites... "If your in a NEAR MISS it means you DIDN'T miss right? I want to be in a NEAR HIT"

Truly one my favorite comedians. He will be missed.

The clerk at Target today told me to 'have a nice day'. It made me think of Carlin, and it made me smile.

I thought the news this morning was a hoax. It had never occurred to me that George Carlin was mortal and that one day we'd have to go on without him.

I will never forget his response, on the Actor's Studio to the question "What is your least favorite noise" -- the sound of a truck beeping backing up.

When I heard the news, I utter one of the seven words you can't say on television. Seems fitting.
