Testing one two

Me: Is this thing on, you think?
Cousin Mike: It’s always on. That’s how we got made.

Speaking of Cousin Mike, and things “always being on” because that’s how we got made, let’s not forget those big moments that life can sometimes provide.

And if I’m not mistaken, Varitek told Mike that he had thrown a strike.

You know. Life can be an amazing thing. Nice to have an “always on” mindset where you can appreciate it as it is happening. I’m trying.

Because this is not a dress rehearsal.

Keep trying. It’s worth the effort. And I am indescribably jealous that Mike got to do that. It’s not the Red Sox for me, but the feeling would be the same.

I came upon your site looking for commentary on some of the lesser known LM Montgomery books, but the first thing I thought when I saw this picture was, “Hey, that’s the guy from Global Guts!” So he’s your cousin, huh? I grew up loving that show (I know he’s done a lot of other stuff, but GG is what first popped into my mind)!

One day, Mike will get to throw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers game. Then he’ll know he’s arrived.

And thanks for the reminder, sheila. Not a dress rehearsal.

I love the relationship that you and Mike have- again, I say, there is nothing better than family.

Yes, us “peacedale” o’malleys (as tony insists on saying)are finally getting the hang of this whole enjoying the present thing! Let go of the past, and stop worrying or daydreaming about the future. NOW is where it’s at! Reality! What a novel idea!

    God…that must feel INCREDIBLE!!!

  7. red says:

Jean – hahaha God, I love Uncle Tony.

  8. Cousin Mike says:

And, the moment I walked back in the dugout, Josh Becket told me to tuck in my shirt next time because my gut was hanging out. Official enjoying of moment: 7.3 seconds. I’ve never regretted not tucking in a t-shirt more.

  9. red says:

Mike – Of course it would be Beckett who would let you know about your shirt – of course it would be him!

    Isn’t life always like that.

  10. red says:

    Sarah – ha!!!!

  11. Cousin Mike says:

He was being pretty funny, just you know, giving it to me. Ballplayers are relentless with one another, it actually made me feel initiated.

  12. red says:

Oh, I can totally see that.
