Our backyard sometimes looks like a magical glade in a fairytale.

My dad and his pachysandra … we call them “packies.” “Packies looking really good.” “There’s wayyy too much packies out here.” etc.
They’re a beautiful groundcover, and the shape of the borders are just gorgeous. Love all the shade!! Such splendid trees and shrubs. I should show this pic to my mom — she’s a retired horticulturalist and would love this, I’m sure.
It really does look like a unicorn is going to pop out of somewhere, trailing rainbows.
There are always a couple of weeks in April/May – when it rains a lot – where the backyard becomes this insane green paradise.
