Hi, Sheila. For something like the last 2 years, none of the images on your site display for me. I only see blank squares. As far as I know, your site is the only one where I have this issue. Have any of your other readers mentioned this? It seems like this has to be something specific to your site, as it doesn’t happen anywhere else.
YES. someone else has mentioned it – and it has to do with the https vs http format of the URLs. I actually had an appointment with my trustworthy tech person to get this fixed – it’s something fairly involved and above my paygrade – but she thinks she knows what to do. We had to cancel our appointment because … holidays? can’t remember. We are due for a conversation – I really want to get this fixed. I had no idea this was happening for people and I need it to stop happening!! thank you for reminding me!
Well, I guess it’s another tribute to your writing. We keep coming back even when we can’t see the images you are posting. I should have mentioned it a long time ago.
I was so glad someone spoke up. I literally had no idea! My tech person is on a vacation with her wife – how dare she – so I’ll hook up with her when she gets back and get this fixed.
I have the same issue but for me it started only a few months ago. At first I thought it was because I hadn’t updated my browser (because of all the open tabs) so didn’t think much about it. And I never have any issue on my work laptop, so that’s also probably why it took me a while to notice.
In case it might be useful info when your tech person troubleshoots: On my Mac I have the same issue on Chrome, Firefox and Safari – all up to date versions now. For a little while, I could manually change the URL from http to https – or the other way around, I can’t remember because it doesn’t work anymore.
On my work laptop, with a Windows OS, no issue whether I visit with Chrome, Firefox or Edge.
Weird, Lyrie – I am so glad for this information and I will pass it on.
Brenda – who has done updates for me before, when I did the re-design and needed to import YEARS of posts into the new template, etc. – she handled all of it – anyway, she thinks she knows what the issue is and how to solve it, but she’ll have to go into my hosting service and … doo-hickey-futz-technical-language-blah-blah – but it will require some finessing – none of which I am confident enough to handle.
I hope we can get this resolved and I truly appreciate people mentioning it.
If only I’d known it was the doo-hickey-futz-technical-language-blah-blah, I could have probably fixed it myself…easily.
