I have probably listened to this cover of the song “Let’s Do It” at least once every single week since Tank Girl first came out 5,000 years ago when I bought a cassette tape of the soundtrack. That’s how much I like it. Hearing Joan Jett, of all people, growl about the “little bluebells at the bottom of the dell” and also hearing Paul Westerberg harmonizing left and right, willy-nilly … it’s a little bit effed-up, I relate to it, and it makes me happy.

But not red, hot and blue, I hope!
Cole Porter makes for wonderful combinations, doesn’t he? I’m partial to Iggy Pop and Deborah Harry singing “Well, Did You Evah!” myself.
That “Did You Evah” is classic.
Joan Jett and Paul Westerberg are two sides of the same coin. It’s like they are the same person, pure rock and roll, so to hear them here together is awesome.
On a related note Jon Bon Jovi does an absolutely terrific cover of “How Long Has This Been Going On?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrWm-VLxc1k
Jessica – that is so hot!! (well, anything he does is hot. His mere existence is hot). Why haven’t I heard this before???
Another blog introduced to me to it and yeah hot is the exact word. I listen to it and I’m in some great, smokey, dive bar. Listening to the band and slurping down booze and rubbing an ice cube on my arms to try to cool down from the summer heat and lack of AC in the place.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Love is in the air. Or something close enough to love!
Seriously. I kinda finally met somebody and something kinda frightning and awesome happened and this song makes me remember what it felt like in the moments before he finally made a move.
Nice!!
Perfect question: How long has this been going on?
It’s been one of those dancing around each other for years things. And we finally decided to stop pretending we weren’t a little crazy for each other.
Yay!!!!
