I love this Smart Set column by Jessa Crispin on magical thinking.
Ostensibly two book reviews, the piece starts and ends with a discussion of the “mystical marriage” of W.B. Yeats and Maud Gonne (“It is to be a bond of the spirit only”), and their participation in the Order of the Golden Dawn, something I’ve always been fascinated by (how could you not be?).
I love Jessa Crispin, love her writing.
Yeah, she’s so great. Love her Smart Set column. The number of books I have read because of her reviews is almost embarrassing. She should get a commission.
