My friend Dan Callahan’s book on Barbara Stanwyck, Barbara Stanwyck: The Miracle Woman comes out today.
Dan has set up a website to promote the book.
I saw Dan last month at his and Keith’s Golden Globes gathering, and of course had to grill him on what Stanwyck had to say about working with Presley in Roustabout. It is a great blessing and a curse to have a one-track mind. But it’s all very exciting and he’s been working on the book for a couple of years and I am so excited to read it. She’s one of my favorite actresses.
On February 19 of this month, he will be hosting a double-feature of Stanwyck movies at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, with a book signing between screenings.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh………. I hear the angels singing!!!!!! Ordering right now!!!!! Oh happy day, I feel like Ive won the lotto!!!!!!
Jennchez – I was hoping you would stop by and see this message!! Can’t wait to read it myself!
Oh…happy! I must read this book. I’ve been a fan of Barbara Stanwyck’s since I was a little kid watching The Big Valley. I found Victoria Barkley so much more interesting than her daughter Audra. I didn’t want to be Audra; I wanted to be Victoria. With her white hair and direct gaze, I thought she was so beautiful.
I just got a notice from Amazon saying the the shipment for my pre-order has been delayed until March. Does that mean the the original publication date has been pushed back, or is this just Amazon?
Andy – hmmmm. I am not sure! It might just be Amazon, but I am honestly not sure!
