{"id":10069,"date":"2010-05-02T19:03:24","date_gmt":"2010-05-02T23:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=10069"},"modified":"2010-08-28T20:04:21","modified_gmt":"2010-08-29T00:04:21","slug":"lost-works-of-sir-noel-coward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=10069","title":{"rendered":"Lost Works of Sir Noel Coward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My good friend Kate appeared in a long-running show recently in Chicago called <i>Oh, Coward<\/i>, which got <a href=\"http:\/\/chicagocritic.com\/oh-coward\/\">glorious reviews<\/a> (that&#8217;s just one of them).  A three-person cabaret night, devoted to the works of Noel Coward.  It felt like she was in that show forever.  When I went to visit Chicago late last fall, it was up and running and it just closed.<\/p>\n<p>What do you do when you are in what is, perhaps, the longest run of a show ever known to man?<\/p>\n<p>First of all: you bond with your cast mates in a manner unprecedented.<\/p>\n<p>Two:  You make a video like the one below.  &#8220;Lost works of Sir Noel Coward&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I have no idea how any one of them kept a straight face for even one second.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well &#8230;. <i>look<\/i> at them &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They are all ASSHOLES, and I mean that in the best sense of the word.  I love when Kate reaches out and sort of rubs her fellow actor&#8217;s shoulder, in support of the deadpan BULLSHIT he just put out.
