THAT was phenomenal. <\/p>\n<p>Never mind the fact that it pours right into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?tag=rocky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my <i>Rocky<\/i> obsession<\/a>, but the film is directed by the enormously gifted Ryan Coogler who brought us the harrowing <i>Fruitvale Station<\/i>. I&#8217;m thrilled he&#8217;s at the helm. But as I mentioned in my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=104123\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post about the <i>Magic Mike XXL<\/i> trailer<\/a>, creating a good trailer is an art in and of itself. It says little about the eventual movie &#8211; we&#8217;ll have to wait to see it in full to judge for ourselves. But a trailer can evoke, propel, create a need to SEE, generate excitement. The <i>Creed<\/i> trailer does that. SPOILER: When Stallone suddenly emerges &#8230; goosebumps. And I also love how the cuts coincide with the beats in the music. It&#8217;s elegant and smooth, but also <i>pops<\/i> off the screen. Electric.  Can&#8217;t wait to see it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well. THAT was phenomenal.
