He discusses 15 films from the 1970s, films that were not made as prestige pictures, films not considered classics (well, okay, maybe two of them are now), films that were sniffed at as too raunchy, too violent, too &#8230; too much in general. These movies were dumped into second-run theatres and drive-ins, and were car movies, blaxploitation pictures, thrillers &#8230; genre movies that, nonetheless, speak deeply about the time in which they were made.
