I served on the committee for Best Breakthrough Performance twice, and this year, I was honored to serve with David Ehrlich, Alison Willmore, Tim Grierson and Alex Dowd on the Best Actor \/ Best Actress committee. REALLY happy to find, once we all started voting, how much everyone else loved Haley Richardson&#8217;s performance in <i>Columbus<\/i> too. I&#8217;m so happy she made the cut! (We can only vote, by the way, on actors whose names have been submitted to the Gothams by the film producers.) We also decided, as a group, to give a special prize for Best Ensemble to Dee Rees&#8217; <i>Mudbound<\/i>.
