His understudy &#8211; who has been waiting for literally years &#8211; will now take over the role. This is the end of an era and so I wanted to just take a moment to acknowledge its passing. <\/p>\n<p>I reviewed the documentary about Spinney &#8211; <i>I Am Big Bird<\/i> &#8211; for Rogerebert.com, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rogerebert.com\/reviews\/i-am-big-bird-the-caroll-spinney-story-2015\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and it is truly wonderful<\/a>.
