Look at how throughout the medley, Martin is turned slightly towards her. He&#8217;s not &#8220;in this&#8221; for himself, even though he shares the stage with her. He is ceding ground to her, keeping his attention on her. And she? She takes what he gives her &#8211; and what he gives her is often very funny &#8211; and reacts to him in an open and accessible way, which is her own kind of ceding ground, a sort of, &#8220;Wowee, listen to you!&#8221; or &#8220;You sound amazing!&#8221; Two performers: towering giants in their field &#8211; but here, they are all about each other. That&#8217;s collaboration, that&#8217;s art. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally: God, I miss variety shows! Where amazing people come on and just &#8230; do whatever &#8230; to entertain us, to amuse us, to help us forget the hum-drum. <\/p>\n<p>No bells and whistles. Only a couple of slight camera moves. No cuts.
