\nI took this at dawn. A stormy dawn. Which sounds like a porn name. <\/p>\n
This is on the Jersey Shore somewhere during the (thankfully) brief season – 2011-2012 – when mania ran the show and I was sleeping 3-4 hours a night and for whatever reason I felt more comfortable in ratty rundown motels than my own home so I\u2019d wander restlessly up and down the Jersey Shore – off-season – looking for one that was open. Then I would walk the beach until the sun came up and then go back to my chilly dank motel room, flop on the bed, and watch reality TV *for hours*. It turned off the brain! Soooo refreshing. I mean … it was my way of coping with a disease I didn\u2019t even know I had, and I suppose there are worse ways of coping. This situation is why so many of my pictures are dawn\/sunrise pictures. If I got up at a normal hour the whole day darkened with a sense of doom. Melodramatic lurid language is the only language that comes close to the truth (thank you David Foster Wallace for giving me that observation). <\/p>\n
The world reveals itself in whole new ways at dawn. And so maybe dawn could reveal MY life in whole new (better) ways. <\/p>\n
