\nI pretty much said what I needed to say about Tina Turner in my review of this year’s documentary Tina<\/i><\/a>. I saw her in concert. I was there, I was present for her rise to total dominance in the culture, post-Ike, the 1980s Tina juggernaut. She was everywhere<\/i>. I can’t say definitively what effect it had on me to witness a late-40-something woman as one of the biggest rock stars in the world, filling stadiums, but it had to have had SOME effect. I grew up in a moment where something like that was possible. I feel so fortunate I went and saw her in concert! I wrote about all of that in my review. <\/p>\n
